Striata Reader (Linux - libc6 .tar.gz)

Installing the Reader
- Extract the contents of the downloaded archive, replacing the filename below with the location of the downloaded archive:
tar -xzf ~/Desktop/striata-reader-2.11-1.tar.gz
- Install the reader application files and register MIME associations:
cd striata-reader
sudo ./install.sh
cd ..
rm -rf striata-reader
Using the Striata Reader
Depending on your configuration there are 3 options for launching the Striata Reader:
- Simply click on any .emc file to launch the reader.
There is also the option of launching the Striata Reader from the desktop application menu,
this will prompt for a valid .emc document.
- Run the Striata Reader from the command line:
striata-reader
- If you require command-line only operation, use the command-line reader: "striata-readerc". For example:
striata-readerc ~/Desktop/MyStatement.emc
By default, this application will extract the contents of the encrypted document into the current working directory.
For instructions on changing this behaviour via the command-line, and other useful options, run with no command-line
arguments:
striata-readerc

Installing the Reader
- Save the Striata Reader debian package to disk*.
- Double click on the downloaded package.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install.
* Firefox users can open the file directly using GDebi (and then proceed to step 3), but Konqueror users should not choose to open the file directly with Ark.
Using the Striata Reader on Ubuntu or Kubuntu
There are two ways to launch the Striata Reader
- Click on any valid .emc document. This will result in a credential dialogue being launched if any credentials are required. An appropriate viewing application will then be launched with the encrypted document contents.
- Select the Striata Reader from the desktop application menu (Applications, Accessories in Ubuntu or Applications, Utilities in Kubuntu). A file selection dialogue will allow one to select a .emc document to open. Followed by the normal procedure outlined above.

Striata Reader (Windows small install)

NOTE: This version of the reader is for Windows 98 (2nd edition), 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7.
Installing the Reader
- Click here to start the Striata Reader download.
- In the dialogue box, click on 'Save'.
- We suggest that you save the file to your desktop.
- If you save it to your desktop, it should be visible when you minimize all your open windows.
- Double click the new striata-reader.exe file on your desktop.

- Windows 7 / Vista Users may need to right click striata-reader.exe on the desktop and select "Run as Administrator" to begin the installation process.
- Once installed a dialogue box will display a message stating that the Striata Reader has been installed.
- Click OK to close the message dialogue box. You will now be able to access your encrypted statements.
Viewing the Statement on Windows
- Double-click on the statement. When prompted to 'Save' or 'Open' the attachment, choose 'Open'.
- A dialogue box may prompt you to enter a shared secret or your username and password. Do so.
- Select OK.

Installing the Reader
- Unpack the archive in a temporary directory:gzip -dc striata-reader-1.0-25-solaris.tar.gz | tar xvf -
- As root, move the unpacked files to the correct locations using the following commands:
mv striata-reader /usr/bin/
mv libstlport_gcc.so /usr/lib/
Viewing the Statement on Solaris
- Run: striata-reader. This will extract the files into the current directory (after asking for a user name and/or password if appropriate).
Automating the extraction of statements
- Run striata-reader -help to see what other options are supported that should ease the scripting and automation of the extraction of .emc files.

Striata Reader (Linux - libc5)

Installing the ReaderNOTE: Requires libc5.
- Click here to start the Striata Reader download.
- Extract the attached striata-reader.tar.gz file to a directory on your computer.
- Change the directory to the directory where the Striata Reader was extracted to.
- Run the install script and follow the instructions. You may run the installer with the following command: sudo ./install
- Once the Striata Reader is installed correctly, you may proceed to open the encrypted statement or invoice.
View the Statement on Linux
- If you installed the command line version you can run the following command to see how to view your statement by using this command: striata-reader EncryptedFile.emc

Striata Reader (Mac Carbon - OS X)

Note: This version of the reader is for Mac OS X.
Installing the Reader
- Click here to start the Striata Reader download.
- The Mac OS X Striata Reader is distributed as a disk image
- Download the .dmg file, open it, and copy it to your hard drive (for instance the /Applications folder).
- Open Striata Reader by double-clicking on it.

- Open the file directly from within your mail client.

- Internet Config (available by default on System 8 and above).

NOTE: This version of the reader is for Windows 95, 98 (1st edition).
Installing the Reader
- Click here to start the Striata Reader download.
- In the dialogue box, click on 'Run'.
- If a Security warning asks "Do you want to install and run striata-reader.exe? click 'Yes'.
- If you don't see 'Run', then 'Save' the attachment. We suggest you use the desktop.
- Now go to your desktop, and double click the downloaded file striata-reader.exe.
- If you saved it to your desktop, it should be visible if you minimize all windows.
- Once installed a dialogue box will display a message stating that the Striata Reader has been installed.
- Click OK to close the message dialogue box. You will now be able to access your encrypted statements.
