Duties:

  • Direct the Projects and Operations function so that the team, capabilities, tools and processes support the professional image of Striata
  • Ensure that the entire function operates in an efficient manner
  • Ensure that the high quality of production is upheld, maintaining consistently high standards for the team and the company
  • Ensure the professional development and readiness of the team
  • Manage the evolution of the team’s technology needs and marketing technology capabilities
  • Work with the Head of Development to promote and implement best practices, processes and procedures
  • Identify and propose areas of improvement throughout the production workflow
  • Delegate projects/tasks to subordinates
  • Participates in performance reviews of subordinate team members
  • Point of escalation for team members to assist in resolving issues
  • Represents the team in weekly, team-level operational meetings
  • Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
  • Facilitates effective team interaction
  • Generates enthusiasm among team members
  • Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model
  • Manages the process of innovative change
  • Explain individual roles in achieving team and departmental objectives and how individuals fit into the overall picture
  • Clarify limits of authority/responsibility with team members and provide guidance as appropriate
  • Ensure that individuals get the time, resources and support they need to do their job
  • Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance
  • Provide team members with constructive feedback on their performance
  • Keep people up-to-date on changes and developments that may affect the team
  • Adopt the most appropriate management style in differing situations, with different people
  • Tackle performance issues as and when appropriate and seek direction and support when necessary
  • Prepare individuals for their role through appropriate induction training
  • Discuss training and development needs with team members
  • Oversee and manage all assigned new projects, operational processes, repeat campaigns and automated projects
  • Assist member with all pre-sales product support where required
  • Understands business issues and data challenges of the client’s organisation
  • Works with the client to elicit and understand the business requirements and converts the requirements into manageable deliverables
  • Responsible for writing functional requirements, project specifications and process design
  • Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution
  • Communicates appropriately during needs analysis and requirements specification stage
  • Uses input from the client to define and document use cases according to best practice
  • The planning and management of assigned projects according to project timelines
  • Ultimately responsible for the sign off of newly developed projects and ensuring that the client is satisfied with the outcome.
  • New project set up for all projects at all complexity levels
  • Handling change requests at all complexity levels
  • Defines the functional requirements specification (as an extension of the BRS) and scope of projects
  • Knowledgeable reference for the development team during the course of the project
  • Regular quality control checks to ensure that the project remains in line with the supplied specifications
  • Manages change control process during project build and ensures that all documentation is kept up to date
  • Manages and enforces project schedules and budgets
  • Notifies the relevant development team of any discrepancies (deviations from the specification) and follows up on the updates
  • Ensures that both the Client and the Account Manager are kept up-to-date on the progress/status of the project
  • Participates in the prioritization of projects together with the developers and the other members of the operations team
  • Solves hurdles that arise during projects in order to mitigate late delivery, poor quality and team conflict
  • Creation and maintenance of documentation including, but not limited to, specifications, agendas, meeting minutes and status reports
  • Facilitates the requirements kickoff workshops
  • Translates and document the kickoff outcomes into manageable and measurable features
  • Forms a positive working relationship with the appropriate client contacts
  • Communicates and applies project standards
  • Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients
  • Ensure that all handover documentation are accurate and complete before handing over a project to Operational Services
  • Implement and enforce a set of minimum requirements in handing a live project to Operational Services
  • Monitor the handover process to ensure best practices are adhered to
  • Oversee and manage low impact change control processes and ensure that all documentation is kept up to date
  • Provide weekly reporting on new projects and operational services
  • Manage daily problem solving and identifying critical issues
  • Ensure issues are tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Communicate effectively with clients to detect issues
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
  • Manage client expectations effectively
  • Manage resources in accordance with workload
  • Consistently deliver high-quality service to our clients

Candidate profile:

  • 2-4 years experience within a similar position
  • Working experience in a software/IT industry will be an advantage
  • Have a strong ability to conceptualize and follow through on projects from start to finish
  • Highly organised, logical and structured individual
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Excellent time management ability
  • The candidate must be comfortable in an open plan set-up with constant group interaction
