Wesbank found Striata's secure 'PUSH' eStatement solution to be the ideal fit, as it provided their commercial fleet management customers with an easy and secure way to receive their reports, invoices, credit notes and statements. Their business customers now receive a consolidated eStatement package delivered to their email inbox - no need to link or login to any web page.

From drowning in paper...
The distribution of Wesbank's customers' paper based monthly reports, invoicing and statements was manual (via post), with some electronic functionality provided through their web portal.
This paper based option carried a substantial cost - the fleet managers were receiving as many as 4 boxes of documentation each month (5 reams of paper per box) from Wesbank, who themselves were expending tons of paper monthly in support of this documentation process alone.
Wesbank's customers were finding it extremely difficult and time consuming to access critical data within the paper based records. They required an easy to use, secure, electronic statement solution that would not only simplify the extraction and management of critical data, but also reduce data capturing time and paper usage. Wesbank also wanted to improve their internal efficiencies through the ability to send multiple documents to customers within a single email.
...to eStatements that save more than 24 tons of paper per year
Wesbank customers now simply provide a valid email address to receive their eStatement. There are no more paper bills to file, no website to visit, no registration required and the secure HTML attachments can be saved and viewed without being online. A one-click print function is built in, should hardcopies be required.
The eStatements, created as an HTML attachment to an email, are encrypted and can only be accessed through the use of a shared secret. Security of the eStatement is ensured by a two-factor authentication process, as recipients need access to the email inbox, as well as knowing the required shared secret.
A further enhancement ensures that each encrypted email has a digital signature from the approved Wesbank sending domain. This is to authenticate its origin, as well as confirm that it was not altered or tampered with in transit.
Striata's solution enables the compression of the eStatement and related documentation so that large of amounts of data can be included in a relatively small attachment to a single email - without affecting the deliverability and usability thereof. Each email containing multiple statements also includes a consolidation and summary page listing all the attachments, allowing for easy management and administration.
ROI within eight months
The implementation of the Striata solution resulted in a remarkable return on investment within eight months.
Wesbank is now saving more than 24 tons of paper per year, which is extremely advantageous to them from both an environmental and financial perspective.
