How Does eBilling Work

Striata's Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment solution delivers electronic bills via email, providing as much convenience as traditionally posted bills. Customers can also easily and simply make payments directly from within the e-bill - something which cannot be matched in the paper billing world.

The email eBilling process:
  • The electronic bill is delivered to the customer via email; still the most frequently used digital communication channel, and the one with the highest comfort level in terms of use.
  • It allows customers to consolidate and store all documents from each biller in their mail client or in another folder on the computer, while retaining all security mechanisms.
  • The bill remains encrypted while not in use, so the customer's personal data is protected, even if their computer is lost or stolen.
  • Striata eBills are replicas of the paper bills, but are also embedded with rich functionality that allows sorting and drill-down, as well as the option to pay from within the bill itself.
Convenient customer experience to receive, view and pay bills:
  • The customer receives an electronic document that looks just like their paper bill, but with added rich interactive features, such as invoice consolidation and one click ability to make a payment from within the document. They can also receive personalized, relevant and targeted promotions as part of the email or within the attachment.
  • The electronic bill arrives as a secure electronic document via email, attached as an encrypted PDF or EMC.
  • The email bypasses spam filters and arrives in the customer inbox, with all images displayed and all links enabled.
  • Customers don't need to login or remember any usernames or passwords. Striata's secure electronic documents can only be opened with a shared secret (a piece of information that only the biller and the customer knows; for example, the last 4 digits of a mobile or social security number. Customers are prompted by a reminder question to enter this number).
  • Customers can quickly and conveniently make a payment from within the eBill upon opening the document - effectively paying the bill before the paper version would have been delivered.
  • Customers receive both a pop-up confirmation and an email confirming that the payment has been received.
  • Customers can conveniently click on personalized marketing offers within the email or ebill, which take them to the biller's website. Because these are targeted and personalized, click-through rates dramatically exceed industry standards.
