'Innovations in Secure PDF eBill Presentment AND a world-first PDF Payment'
We have recently made significant improvements to our Secure PDF offering and as of August 2005, we now have the capability to:
- Deliver any bill or invoice as a securely encrypted PDF email attachment;
- Take ACH, Debit or Credit card payment directly from within the PDF document, without the need to visit a single web page;
- Save a data file of the billing information (.csv, .xls, or .xml) from within the PDF document; and
- Get updated customer information and / or take a service enquiry, directly from within the PDF document.
Delivering secure documents in PDF (Portable Document Format) has many advantages. These include:
- Inbox penetration - PDF is a well-known and accepted attachment format that has very high inbox penetration. It is unlikely to be mistakenly blocked by ISP's, spam filters and anti-virus protection technologies.
- Pervasive reader - The free Adobe PDF Reader is standard software on almost all new computers sold in North America and has become a nationally accepted document format type. (There is little chance that in 2005 a recipient of a PDF document will be unable to open it.)
- Secure - Secure PDF utilizes 128bit SSL encryption. In conjunction with our offline authentication strategies, this security type is therefore significantly more secure than a normal SSL secured website.
- Known format - the PDF extension / format type is widely used by businesses and consumers.
- Perfect printing - PDF files look exactly like the original documents and preserve the fonts, images, graphics, and layout of any source file both onscreen and when printed.
- Embedded data file - Striata is able to embed a data file for upload into personal or business accounting systems.
- Secure Pay - Through the use of Striata's groundbreaking BILLPAY technology, recipients of the PDF bill are able to pay it instantly (from within the secure PDF itself) without the need to register, or visit and log into a website.
- Digital Signatures - Striata's Secure PDF document can be signed with a digital certificate, which acts as a data-check on the PDF. If any data point is changed in the PDF, the certificate will display a notification message of the content tampering.
- USPS EPM - We are in the process of developing a United States Postal Service EPM (Electronic Postmark), which will provide complete security by enabling an additional verification step, including: Sender, Subject, Content, Date & Time and Message Validity. This will also carry trusted USP branding, give the secure PDF invoice Federal 'Title 39' protection, as well as a full audit trail for the biller.
PDF is a well-known, trusted document delivery format. With all the above features, it is now perfectly suitable for convenient, easy to use, no registration, secure email Bill Presentment & Payment.
