Why deliver Paper Pay-stubs?
With over 70% of Americans online regularly, EMAIL has changed the way people interact. It's not uncommon to receive previously paper-based communication of all types in your email inbox instead of your mailbox.
The benefits of electronic document delivery are proving attractive to both the suppliers and the buyers, with both sides enjoying the added functionality and much greater convenience. A good example of this migration is the steady adoption of electronic bill delivery.
If significant numbers of people are moving from paper bills to email bills for the added functionality and convenience, why not apply the same approach to pay-stubs?
Many companies pay their employees weekly or bi-monthly, requiring large volumes of paper pay-stubs to be generated and delivered. This is both costly and time consuming. And in an increasingly paperless society, it's unnecessary.
Online pay-stubs presented on a secure website are an alternative to paper, but like website based billing, the usage statistics of these systems are relatively low. While presenting pay-stubs on a website may be a cost effective way for a company to distribute them, this "come and get it" approach is neither simple nor convenient for employees. Coupled with online security concerns, the result is that employees just don't view their pay-stubs (except to file tax returns). A lost opportunity and a wasted exercise.
So how do employers achieve the cost savings of online distribution, while maximizing ease-of-use and convenience for employees? Deliver the pay-stub directly into the employee's INBOX as a secure, encrypted EMAIL.
This approach greatly enhances convenience and ensures confidentiality for the recipient. Eliminating paper pay-stubs results in an instant cost saving of up to 70%.
Engage your employees.
The email pay-stub also presents an excellent opportunity for regular, personalized communication with employees. As a flexible marketing tool, electronic pay-stubs can be used for internal communication such as surveys, news and events aimed at promoting a sense of community and loyalty. Where appropriate, it can include targeted external offers, promotions and happenings which benefit employees, while off-setting delivery costs.
Many Benefits:
- By delivering the pay-stub directly into their inbox, employees don't have to do anything to "collect" or view it.
- Email has become the digital communication channel of choice, which means the pay-stub arrives in a frequently used and trusted application - the email inbox.
- Because it arrives as a secure offline attachment, employees can review their pay-stubs as often as they like without having to be connected to the Internet.
- Inserting your content (pay-stub) into your employee's daily routine (managing email) is not only significantly cheaper than paper, but also dramatically reduces the time taken to distribute and review pay-stubs.
